Vegetable chilla

Vegetable chilla is a simple and comforting chilla that is made using authentic spices and moringa leaves. You can serve this delicious recipe with hot rice, roti, chapatti .

Ingredients

  • For Making Vegetable chilla :
  • 2 cups chickpea flour (can also use gram flour or besan)
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups grated zucchini
  • 2 handful moringa leaves
  • 1 tsp green chili paste
  • ½ tsp grated ginger
  • ½ tsp black salt optional
  • ¼ tsp carom seeds ajwain
  • ¼ tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  • For Making Vegetable chilla :
  1. Take a mixing bowl and add all ingredients except water, one by one – besan flour, grated veggies, moringa leaves, green chili paste, finely chopped ginger, carom seeds, salt, black salt, turmeric powder, and water.
  2. Mix everything very well and make sure that there are no lumps.
  3. Mixing with a whisk will ease the job and make the batter lump-free.
  4. The batter should be of flowing consistency.
  5. Heat a flat skillet (I use cast iron dosa pan) and once it is heated well, add tsp of oil.
  6. Take one or two ladles full of batter and pour it on the hot pan.
  7. You can spread the batter according to your preference.
  8. Some like thick pancakes, some like this.
  9. We generally make them thin so that they can turn crispy.
  10. Let it cook for 2 minutes and then flip the cheela using spatula.
  11. Cook the other side also for 2 to 3 minutes on medium flame so that cheela gets cooked properly from inside.
  12. Repeat the same until you finish all the batter.

Relax & Enjoy !
