Moringa Idli fry

Ingredients

For Moringa Idli fry

  • 2 Idlies
  • 1 Medium sized chopped onions
  • 2 pcs Garlic (large one)
  • 2 pcs Ginger (thin and medium sized)
  • 1 tbsp Boiled moringa leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Urad dal
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
 
Instructions for preparing Moringa Idli fry
  1. Heat a pan, add 1/2 tablespoon oil, 1 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds and 1/4 teaspoon urad dal.
  2. Once the mustard seeds start spluttering, add the chopped onions and sauté for two minutes.
  3. Once the onions become transparent, add the chopped garlic and ginger, sauté for two minutes.
  4. Now add the boiled moringa leaves to the onion mix.
  5. Add the spice powders, 1/4 tablespoon turmeric, 1/2 tablespoon salt and 1 tablespoon chilli powder. We would have already added salt to the moringa leaves while boiling, and also in the idly, so make sure you add the required salt.
  6. Let the spice powders get coated with the moringa leaves mix, sauté the mix for 5 minutes and then add the idly cubes.
  7. Add 1/2 tablespoon oil and give a quick mix, maintain in low flame and cook for 5 minutes
  8. Now idly fry ready to serve. Serve hot with any chutney of your choice.
